September 14, 2017..  I got the Kyprolis treatment today in the infusion area. I thought we would not be there longer than 2.5 hours but we were there for 7 hours. The nurse said I needed to get another blood test and that showed my hemoglobin was low which would require a unit of blood, which I got. I found it hard to believe my hemoglobin had dropped from 8.7 to 7.4 since Monday with my myeloma not that active. She admitted that she might not have flushed out the port enough when she took the sample.
Tomorrow, we leave for home (yipee). We plan to drive to Cookeville and spend the night.
Take care and enjoy life!

Note: I typed this note and forgot to publish it. I am so sorry but I am finding it just now where I left it. It was finished but not published. I am sorry if you were looking for it earlier.

  2. So glad you are heading home. I bet it of all the excitement you just forgot to publish. That is understood. So glad you had such a good report on this visit. I pray for more reports of this nature in the future. Our prayers are always heard and everything happens on God's timeline. God is amazing in whatever his choice is and his plan is always the right plan. We just have to keep the faith and trust in him alone. I love you Dad and I am so thankful to be back home living so close to where I grew up and knowing that I can just pop over to help you with anything you need. I am always there for you!

  4. That blood sample business make me HOPPIN MAD. The lab people say " your lab results are only as good as your sample" when a patient ends up getting an unessary blood transfusion makes me HOPPIN MAD. They do have to get a written report done. It doesn't go unpunished by any means but it should not be happening because of a sloppy line draw not being flushed and discarded properly. PLUS they should have questioned the hgb drop and requested a recollect sample.well you have had should wonderful news this week we will overlook this hgb thing. Safe trip tomorrow love to u both
